Boost up your Active Directory Domain Services in 2008

If you have a lots of dozen of database in your Active Directory so you can compact (defrag) your database
for better AD performance:-

> Open services.msc
> Stop active directory domain services
> open command prompt run as administrator
> ntdsutil
> ntdsutil: activate instance ntds
> ntdsutil: files
> file maintance: compact to c:\temp (type the address where your compact database held)
> file maintenance: quit
> ntdsutil: quit

Now copy that compact database to your original database

> copy c:\temp\ntds.dit c:\windows\ntds\ntds.dit

And now deleted the log files which are represented the previous database

> del c:\windows\ntds\*.log

> And start active directory domain services
